Do you want to make a difference? Board Members Wanted

Who are we?

Tamar Housing is a local housing association, based in Plymouth, celebrating over 50 years of providing affordable housing.

Tamar owns and/or manages over 600 homes, and a partnership with Rentplus has meant that the geographical area of properties managed is now spread across 4 counties in the South West.  We are always looking at new innovative ways to fund and provide more affordable housing and are working towards delivering 450 new homes by 2025.

What are we looking for?

Our Board is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation.  In order to ensure that we have a diverse range of skills to effectively govern the organisation through this exciting and ambitious period of growth, we have vacancies for 2 or 3 additional members with experience in one of the following areas:

  • Property development
  • Contract Procurement/Law
  • Human Resources
  • General housing experience/knowledge

Board Members are asked to commit to around 10 Board and Committee day time meetings a year. The post is voluntary but travel expenses are paid and training is available.

Please note that we are not recruiting for Board members at present due to the current merger talks with South Western Housing. If you would still like to talk to someone then please contact Liz Farmer, Corporate Services Manager, 01752 389134, or email
