A bright and crisp Wednesday on 19 January 2022 saw the official opening of Broomfield Park in Stoke St Gregory. A lovey mixed tenure scheme which complements its beautiful surroundings.
Willow Tree Housing Partnership (WTHP) is proud to have been part of a high quality new development in the village of Stoke St Gregory, Somerset. In delivering this project WTHP have provided much needed accommodation to those who are in need and that live locally.
The opening event was attended by many who helped to make the scheme possible, including Parish Councillors, representatives from Somerset West and Taunton Council (SWT), Otter Construction, and our employer’s agent, NRP. Members of WTHP Board, the CEO and staff were also present to celebrate.
There are seven rented properties which accommodate one, two and three bed needs. In addition, there are two Shared Ownership properties which will allow those seeking to get onto the property ladder a great opportunity to take that first step in a way that is affordable. The scheme was commended for the quality of workmanship and finish, which is first class.
CEO Donna Johnson said, ‘it is wonderful to see this scheme come to fruition and serving the local community, this is why we do what we do and a wonderful example of partnership working’.
Cllr Fran Smith, Executive Member for Housing at SWT, said: “The Council is committed to working with parish and town councils, and housing associations to increase the number of affordable homes in our rural communities.
“More affordable homes in villages like these will make a real difference to the quality of life for some of our eligible residents allowing local people of all ages to live and work in rural areas while supporting the creation of sustainable communities.”
The scheme has been constructed using renewable energy heating systems, contributing further to WTHP’s commitment to reducing its carbon impact in development.
